I am a victim of Panic Attacks and I will write my experience and nightmares here.
I don't like to talk about weakness to anyone, including my physiatrists but I will be open on this Blog about my experience.
How did I come to know about it?
I was at age 38 and running a lot - completed around 500 km in 8 months. I was very active physically but I had some worries in the job, personal life situations etc were occupying my mind all the time but I never realized it.
Then here you go, one night around 2.30 AM, I felt like I am going to die in mid of my sleep. My heart rate was very high, I was going unconscious. I woke up my wife and she was scared.
All the symptoms were like a heart attack - we rushed to the hospital and doctors checked my condition and they said everything is normal.
My mind didn't accept what doctor said - how come everything is normal when I was above to die. OK we came back home and I tried sleeping but it didn't go well.
Next night I went to the bed but I was scared to sleep and somehow slept - then again at same time night 2 AM similar symptoms occurred, heart rate was hight but this time I didn't go unconscious. I got loose motion, I was so scared of sleeping. My heart rate was very hight so decided to go to the doctor - again visited the same hospital and they did some test and declared no issues with me. I felt like this doctor is a really stupid one.
Day 3rd, I was absolutely fine during the day - I had felt my heart is pondering after the first-day situation. After dinner, the moment I went to the bed my heart rate increased and I slept but same time at 2.30 AM- my heart rate was increased, I was sweating, loose motion and all type of symptoms. Again I drove to the hospital but this time different hospital. I went to the emergency and admitted myself - the doctors checked and found no issues with me.
Day 4th, I was absolutely fine during the day - I had felt my heart is pondering after the first-day situation. After dinner, the moment I went to the bed my heart rate increased and I slept but same time at 2.30 AM- my heart rate was increased, I was sweating, loose motion and all type of symptoms.
Today I decided I will go lower class hospital instead of multi-specialty hospitals - I went to a small hospital and found there was only one doctor in an emergency he was sleeping too. I looked at the doctor and told my wife lets go to another place. Just because he sleeping and he was not dressed well also wore some sleepers which doctor would never wear also he was younger at the age.
My wife screamed at me - no we are here now and let us meet the same doctor - he looked at all my reports, blood, ECG, vitamins etc
Finally, he gave me a strange look and told me there is nothing wrong with you - I asked him but doctor you haven't checked me. He said physically you have no problem but you need to get your sleep analysis done. You might be suffering from sleep apnea. I heard this word the first time. He gave us contact number who will come and fix the machine at home.
The guy visited and after dinner, he fixed the machine and removed it 6 AM in the morning, my night was OK but my heart rate during 2.30 to 3.30 and in general was a bit higher.
He gave me the report and found that 93% of my sleep is good so no issues. I took the report and headed to the hospital. The doctor looked up at reports and said you have good sleep, no evidence of physical illness so now you have to find out a Physiatrist.
After couple of days I started walking a bit and running for very short distance but I was screated of my heart rate so kept it very low.
One fine morning I went on tradmill to give a shot. I was running and suddenly I could see I am feeling bit unconfotable so I stopeed and saw that I am going unconsious again but it was not true at all. I went home but it was difficult becuase my heart rate was high so I drove with my family to one of the best hospital in Bangalore, again in emergencey ward doctors attneded me and found no issues, just for my sake of comfort doctors advised me to see Cardiologist and he advised to take a TMT which was absulatly normal.
Everytime this happened to me, I drove car and went to the hospital. Today I feel it funny but it was nightmare for me.
Now I was shocked, May I mental now? The doctor said no sometimes due to stress and too much physical exercise it happens so you need to consult a doctor.
I started looking up for the Physiatrist and based on his profile I decided to consult the doctor.
My experience is a bit longer.
I will write the experience I had with Physiatrist on next blog.
Hope someone like me will get benefit from reading this blog.
